Time Travelers!

Here’s a selection of portraits from the Civil War Encampment that have been time regressed to simulate 19th century tintypes. At these historical reenactments, many people simply appear as contemporary folks in period costume. But now and then I come across people who genuinely appear as if they are from the past. If asked, I could not write down any sort of description or methodology on the selection process. This is genuinely a matter of instinct. I can often spot these people from a great distance, and I go out of my way to meet them and get their portraits. The 2023 event was simply filled with these time travelers. Here are some of my favorites.
