Hiram Community Night!

The first in a series of community events for Hiram Village took place on January 31st, 2024 in the lobby of the Price Gymnasium on the Hiram College campus. The event was conceived by newly-elected Mayor Anne Haynam as a way of building a sense of community within the village. The informal meet and greet format included many familiar faces along with more recent residents, some of whom met here for the very first time. The mood was light-hearted and featured many Hiram-themed giveaways. The event was timed to coincide with an evening of college basketball with both the men’s and women’s teams competing in a doubleheader. Raffle prizes were awarded by Mayor Anne at halftime in the brilliant Price gym. By far the most popular aspect of the event was a large map of the village. Residents eagerly marked the location of their homes and workplaces with miniature flag pushpins. As the number of flags increased, residents were reminded of how their homes and families relate to the community as a whole.

Residents interested in participating in the next community event are invited to email Mayor Anne mayor@hiramvlgohio.gov
